We do think they are so darn cute, though! Don't you agree?

Baby Mourning Doves
Two baby mourning doves (nestlings) have arrived at the Refuge.....and they did not have to be here. A homeowner cut down a tree, and down came the nest. Mourning doves do not build the most stable nests to begin with. Please PLEASE delay cutting down trees, ANY TREE, until late in the Fall.

thank you for posting so many wonderful pics of the animals in your care. incredible photos - love the closeups!
ReplyDeleteI was able to renest a baby mourning dove this morning by climbing up a ladder to the nest and placing it back with it's mother and sibling. The baby had all it's feathers but couldn't fly. It wasn't injured and it was well fed. I'm sure it will survive.
